Creative Inspiration Workshop: Creating Jewellery with Colour, Thu 16 July 2026, 2pm - 4pm, £20 (10 places), Crafts Council
Join us for a special behind-the-scenes workshop at the Crafts Council’s collection store at their headquarters in Islington. You will have the chance to explore an phenomenal selection of modern and contemporary jewellery that uses and unashamedly celebrates colour.
You will have the rare opportunity to handle, discuss and draw work by pioneering designers including Suzanna Heron, Julia Manheim, Adam Paxon, David Watkins, Julia Manheim, Peter Chang, Eric Spiller, Caroline Broadhead, Katie Hackney and Lina Peterson, many of whom were at the centre of the New Jewellery Movement that developed from the 1970s. Their work, which embraced many non-precious materials including textiles and plastics, gave rise to new forms, scales and colours in jewellery that have shaped the plural and diverse nature of adornment today.
