Meet the Makers: Finlay Grant, Jessica Awari-Tefe, Fabien Y Marcque, Emily Bailey, Thu 12 March 2026, 12.15–1.15pm Free, Online

We all collect life experiences that inspire us. Meet three early career jewellers, Finlay Grant, Jessica Awari-Tefe, Fabien Y Marcque and Emily Bailey, as they take centre stage and share their fascinating stories. They’ve recently taken part in business training as part of Spotlighting Getting Started and are excited to tell you about their career journey, jewellery practice and inspirations behind their work.

By listening in to our online Meet the Maker events, you’ll discover exciting new work at the forefront of the jewellery and silversmithing industry, as well as helping these makers to grow in confidence, and find out what it takes to start out as a jeweller or silversmith.

What is Spotlighting Getting Started?

Our Spotlighting Getting Started programme helps start-ups to put what they have learnt during Getting Started Online, a one-week introduction to business course, into action. Through practical assignments, participants learn how to photograph their work, speak live to camera and prepare their pieces for our annual Spotlighting Getting Started exhibition.

If you want to find out more about Getting Started Online and how to apply visit www.goldsmiths-centre.org/getting-started-online

Do you record or broadcast your talks?

We run our events in person at the Goldsmiths’ Centre and online, so that as many of our community as possible can exchange ideas, learn from industry experts, and form valuable connections across the UK. We do not record these events, or broadcast them, to encourage the open sharing of ideas and experiences and preserve confidentiality. Popular topics will be repeated over time.

Do you have any access requirements?

We are committed to making our training programmes and events as inclusive and accessible as possible. If you have any access requirements, please inform us as early as possible so we can make the necessary arrangements. While we will do our best to accommodate your needs, advance notice is essential to ensure we can provide appropriate support.
