Conference: The State of Sustainability in the Jewellery Industry, Mon 9 June 2025, 1pm – 8pm, £35, The Goldsmiths’ Centre
‘Sustainable’, ‘eco-friendly’, ‘responsible’ are all terms used freely within the jewellery industry today. But how ethical can we truly say our industry is now? Almost 10 years on from Fair Luxury’s first conference in 2016, this event will reflect on the intervening years and act as a catalyst to continue to drive positive change within our businesses and supply-chains.
Book your ticket to hear from expert speakers about the progress which has been made over the last decade in the mining of gold and gemstones, human rights and conditions, and what we, as well as crucial organisations, makers and manufacturers have been doing to spur change. The programme will include panel discussions exploring carbon emissions, sustainable manufacturing and responsible marketing and communications.
The Fair Luxury Conference is programmed in collaboration with the Goldsmiths’ Centre. Join us for this event featuring crucial voices from around the world, and here in the UK. Plus the opportunity to network with like-minded changemakers.

Do you record or broadcast events?
We run our events in person at the Goldsmiths’ Centre and online, so that as many of our community as possible can exchange ideas, learn from industry experts, and form valuable connections across the UK. We do not record these events, or broadcast them, to encourage the open sharing of ideas and experiences and preserve confidentiality. Popular topics will be repeated over time.

Who are Fair Luxury?
Fair Luxury is a collaboration of jewellery industry changemakers, designers, makers, traders, retailers, advocates and educators, with a vision for a responsible and sustainable future.
Each member of Fair Luxury believes that when jewellery is produced responsibly, it can provide sustainable livelihoods for all involved – from the miners of raw materials right through the supply chain to the ultimate designer or retailer of the finished piece. In our mind’s eye, the jewellery industry of the future is one which redistributes wealth fairly and does not place an unsustainable level of pressure on our planet’s vital ecosystems.
